and Exchange Board Of India in February
2008, after a 3 year term which saw
India’s securities markets gain
world wide respectability for its
regulatory standards. He was elected
Chairman of the 80 member Emerging
Markets Committee of the International
Organisation of Securities Commissions
(IOSCO).
Prior
to that, he led an innovative restructuring
of the Industrial Development Bank
of India as its Chairman. Earlier
